COBRA C-AW

The COBRA C-AW is designed for use with Alto and Wood Flutes. It is designed for maximum support and optimal comfort. It has specially designed horizontal and vertical support sections to keep the flute stable. These act as a stable support for the flute, while at the same time preventing stress which may cause pain. Itis handmade from metal with flexible plastic pads, so it will not scratch the flute nor does it hurt the hand. It is constructed to be flexible enough to adjust by hand, yet strong enough to hold its shape after adjustment.

Please note, these items are handmade and so each COBRA turns out slightly differently, including differences in color of the wire. The pictures are for purposes of illustration only.

Choose from 3 sizes to fit the left forefinger:

Medium (US ring size 9-11), Large (US ring size 11-13), and X-Large (US ring size greater than 13).

The Cobra is worn on your left forefinger (index finger) close to the line where your finger meets the palm of your hand, not closer to the knuckle where a ring is usually worn. The Medium Cobra fits fingers measuring 2.35-2.54 inches (60-64.5 mm); the Large Cobra fits fingers measuring 2.55-2.74 inches (65-69.5 mm); the X-Large Cobra fits fingers measuring 2.75 inches (70mm) and larger.

The rings come in three colors - gold, silver and black; the "heads" and "tails" are all black.

COBRA C-AW for alto and wood flutes are available in 3 sizes appropriate for the following US ring sizes: Medium (9-11), Large (11-13), and X-Large (13+).

Remember the COBRA is worn on the left forefinger, which is considerably larger than the ring finger.

The rings come in three colors. All have black heads and tails.

COBRA RTC is a flute support accessory which is attached to the body of the flute. COBRA RTC consists of a clip, which attaches it to the flute body, and an adjustable thumb rest for the right thumb.

COBRA RTC is made of plastic with flexible plastic padding so it will not scratch the flute or hurt the hand. The flexible plastic pad prevents slipping. There is a metal screw to adjust the angle of the thumb rest.

Using the COBRA RTC when playing the flute prevents the flute from rotating due to pressure on the lip plate. It also provides a more stable way for the thumb to support the flute without slipping, while still maintaining contact between the thumb and the flute body. This allows for a very natural feeling while playing the flute.

The thumb rest is easily adjustable allowing it to be used at the most comfortable angle.

Before attaching the COBRA RTC, be sure to clean your flute well. Any grease on the flute may cause the COBRA RTC to slip off. Clean with rubbing alcohol or other gentle grease removing solution (such as dish washing liquid).

The COBRA RTC is small and it should not be necessary to remove it when returning your flute to its case. However, you may need to adjust the angle of the thumb rest to fit in the case.
